The rector of the University of Barcelona attended the "Education: Region Specific Challenges" session that took place at the Education Without Borders (EWB) 2011 Forum in Dubai, UAE. This Forum is organised every two years and brings together university students and personalities from around the world to discuss, exchange views, and take initiatives to reframe higher education in today´s globalized environment.

The JISER-MED project was presented at the University of Cadiz, Spain, within the Conference on University Policy organized by the Ministry of Education that was held on 14 and 15 March 2011 at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The JISER-MED project was presented during a session dedicated to the Erasmus Mundus Action 3 projects.
Anna Cuatrecasas has participated to the launching seminar of the Creamed project, Network of business incubators in the Pyrenees-Mediterranean region. Creamed is a collaboration of regional authorities of the Euroregió members to promote convergence of policies and support business development in the region. Euroregió is an associated partner of the JISER MED project.
The first meeting between Campus Mare Nostrum (CMN), EPUF, JISER / MED (UB) and the IEMED was held at the University of Barcelona on 22 March 2011.The JISER-MED project was presented during the meeting and ways of collaboration with the CMN were explored.
Campus Mare Nostrum is the International Excellence Campus for Higher Education and Research of the University of Murcia (UM), and the University of Cartagena (UPCT). The campus is a joint initiative of international organizations, research centres, technology parks, companies and Spanish local administration.
